Person

In December 2016, I defended my thesis Den skandinaviske encyklopædi. Udgivelse og udformning af Nordisk familjebok og Salmonsens Konversationsleksikon at Lunds University. My thesis is about Scandinavian encyclopedias, their publishing history and the changes that the encyclopedic genre has reviewed from printed to digital format.

Generally, my research interests can be placed as a fusion of history, book history, cultural history, and the history of ideas, focusing especially on the time period from the industrialisation until the present.

On January 1, I joined the Division of History, the Department of Culture and Global Studies, Aalborg University as post-doctoral researcher working on the project The Global History of UNESCO, 1945-75 led by Poul Duedahl. My sub-project examines UNESCO's commitment to books by focusing on UNESCO Publishing’s activities. The first part of the project is about UNESCO as a publisher and the publishing history of the organisation, while the second part of my study deals with a specific publication; UNESCO SourceBook for Science Teaching – UNESCO’s most important and foremost bestseller of all times.
