Information regarding the autumn semester due to the Coronavirus
On 29 May, the Swedish Government decided that the recommendation that universities should conduct all education online will end on 15 June 2020. This means that studies can be conducted on campus in autumn 2020, provided that the guidelines and restrictions from the Government and the Public Health Agency are followed.
For the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences at Lund University this means that education will be carried out both on the University’s premises and via digital tools this autumn.
This because no gatherings are to be bigger than a maximum of 50 people and the need of social distancing. The planning of timetables and the use of premises is to be carried out to ensure that there is no overcrowding in the rooms or regarding entry and exit to premises at LUX building/Campus Helsingborg.
More information about your course/programme will be sent out in August. You can also login to the learning platform Canvas when you have activated your student account.
For now we want you to prepar for education both on campus and online with digital tools. The introductory meeting will most likely be online.
- The autumn semester starts 31 August. A welcome e-mail and information about the time and date for the introductory meeting will be sent out in August (earlier for master's programmes).
- After second admission (30 July) you should activate your student account. The way you activate your account differs depending on if you have applied for degree programmes or courses through the University Admissions in Sweden website (www.universityadmissions.se) or if you are coming to Lund as an exchange student. Se more information about activating your account here. If you need help with your student account please contact the support center.
- When you have activated your student account you can login to the learning platform Canvas for more information about your course/programme, for example witch elements will be at campus or online.
- The digital introductory meetings and most of the lectures that will be held online will use the tool Zoom. If you would like to prepare prior to the meeting you can download the client at https://lu-se.zoom.us/download Only after you have activated your student account you are able to login as a student at Lund University. It is important that you take part in the meetings with both video and audio (using a computer with a web camera or a smartphone).
