I was a Senior University Lecturer and Associate Professor in Library and Information Science at Lund University since 1994, now retired.
My research has mainly concerned informal scholarly communication, and professional librarians' competencies and professional role. 1994-2006 I was head of the LIS programme (BIVIL) at Lund University; Chairman of the Dept of Cultural Sciences 2006-2008. From 2009 I was back as Senior Lecturer, teaching in the ALM Master's programme, and I still teach a little. In my teaching I am a devoted supporter of problem-based learning (PBL).
I hold a BA (Uppsala, 1970), MLS (Borås, 1979) and earned my PhD in Library and Information Science from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1992. My PhD thesis, Personal information management in Computer Science research, concerns the information behaviour of computer scientists and their scholarly communication. 1971-93 I was a professional librarian in Uppsala, Linkoping and Lund university libraries.
