Research Seminar for Mediated Culture and Information: Shirley Chan, (mid seminar): Online fan imaginaries in the platform age: mapping community traces in infrastructures of remembering and forgetting

The PhD project concerns the digital traces produced in the infrastructures involving the platforms and fan communities and their implications for the current and future understanding of community imaginaries. The project intends to map how social media platforms interplay with online communities in producing user traces and how the interplay implicates future use, retrieval and understanding of the traces. The study contributes to the knowledge of how modern information infrastructures impact our structures of remembering and forgetting.
