 Clio blindsided - or which stories do archival institutions tell on Instagram?

In this presentation, historian and archivist Peter Bauer will present findings from his ongoing project, Clio Blindsided – or Which Stories Do Archival Institutions Tell on Instagram? The project examines how archival institutions use social media to communicate history and, in particular, whose stories are represented. Drawing on four major city archives, the study investigates which groups are given prominence and how time and space are constructed in their Instagram narratives. Peter Bauer holds a PhD in History and History Didactics from Malmö University and an MA in ALM Studies, specializing in Archival Science. His research focuses on political and social movements, as well as the digitization of the archival sector.
