Research seminar in Musicology and Intermedia studies: Kristian Eliasson

2 juni 2026 15:15 till 17:00 Seminarium

What happens when music is not only being heard but also really being felt? Join Kristian Eliasson for an artistic exploration into sound, deep frequencies, and vibrations. Through live demonstrations, reflections, and examples from his creative process, he will introduce new approaches to working with gongs, electronic textures, and low-frequency resonance.

Drawing from both artistic practice and technical approach, Kristian investigates how sound affects us physiologically, psychologically, emotionally and how frequencies can shape states of perception, presence, and human connection.

Kristian Eliasson is a musician, sound engineer, and founder of Wholetone Studio in Malmö. Before fully dedicating himself to music and sound art, he worked internationally as a project manager within the telecom industry. Throughout the years, however, sound and music was always a parallell path.

His work spans orchestral recording, experimental electronic music, field recording, sampling, film music and sound design. He has recorded major ensembles including the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, and Musica Vitae.

In recent years, Kristian’s focus has shifted toward the deeper impact of sound itself, not only as an artistic medium, but also as a physiological and therapeutic phenomenon.
