Lars-Gunnar Bodin revisited

This seminar takes as its point of departure the release of Swedish composer and “multi-everything” artist Lars-Gunnar Bodin’s (1935–2021) box set Retrospective Episodes (7-CD Box Set, Firework Edition, 2025). The presentations by Jesper Olsson, Professor of Literature and Rhetoric at Uppsala University, and Sanne Krogh Groth, Associate Professor of Musicology at Lund University, will offer distinct yet complementary perspectives on Bodin’s multifaceted artistic practice, which spans electronic music, sound poetry, visual art, and performance art. The seminar will include an extended listening session featuring selected works from Bodin’s oeuvre, providing an opportunity to engage with his pioneering contributions to the Swedish and international experimental art scene.
