Unpacking the Shock Moments
Ph.D. candidate in Art History and Visual Studies
My research project will touch on various topics. Firstly, the connection the strong emotions evoked by art to the spirituality of the early days of abstract painting. This will be inspected in the shadow of the experience of alienation of the chosen women artists within the field, such as Hilma af Klint, Ellen Thessleff and Georgiana Houghton. Secondly, I inspect the possibilities to instrumentalize these emotions evoked by art, as the transformation of art education is now highly topical, especially with the new definition of museums by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), adding definitions of inclusion, diversity, and sustainability.
I have previously educated at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (BA, 2014-2018) and Stockholm University (MA, 2018-2020). My non-academic professional background is in cultural pedagogy, museum work and curatorial practice.
