I am a doctoral student in the history of ideas and sciences, researching how people in and around the Danish West Indies produced knowledge about the colonies and their place in the world in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. I am particularly interested in what happens to knowledge and ideas about places and people as they move between grand epistemies and physical spaces, with a focus on newspapers, letters, travel accounts and other printed sources.

My broader research interests include eighteenth-century intellectual and cultural history, print culture and copyright, the public sphere, material culture and consumption, temporality and understandings of space.
