Multilingual across multiple platforms - researching the role of language in the everyday

The increasing availability of multilingual content online allows users to conduct searches in multiple languages, often combining them fluidly within a single search task. However, even subtle shifts in keyword choice can alter the results presented on the search engine results page and in AI generated summaries. The aim of my research project is to advance knowledge of how language influences everyday information seeking practices. I am interested in the role of language in shaping users’ search practices and the ways in which language use effects the types of search results that are retrieved.
