Midway seminar: Josefine Løndorf Sarkez-Knudsen. Practising Alternative Futures: Mobilising through Permaculture in times of (ecological) crises

At my midway seminar I will present parts of my dissertation entitled, Practising Alternative Futures: Mobilising through Permaculture in times of (ecological) crises. The text I plan to hand in, includes, the introduction (background, research questions and purpose) and two analytical chapters based on ethnographic fieldwork carried out among permaculturists in Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark between 2020 and 2022. In the first analytical chapter I unfold stories of crisis and change, and how going through a personal crisis might lead to awareness and change that relates to the global ecological crisis. In the second chapter I scrutinise how geographies and entanglements of the agricultural landscape construct specific stories, practices and identities.
