Abstract

This seminar will present preliminary results from Brandon Farnsworth’s postdoctoral research project, “Another Break with Tradition?”. The project studied Borealis – A festival for experimental music in Bergen, Norway to understand how its commitments to the abstract concepts of diversity and experimental music are being negotiated in practice by its workers. The seminar will consist of a brief presentation summarizing key concepts identified by the research, followed by more informal discussion guided by a draft article text shared with participants in advance.
