The course gives you an introduction to the research field of environmental history. You will look at historical approaches in relation to contemporary environmental issues and the wider research field of environmental humanities.
During the course you will analyse contemporary challenges like air pollution, climate change, and loss of biological diversity with examples of environmental history research. You will also analyse the development of key concepts such as environment, sustainability and Anthropocene.
