Course
Course 30 credits • IMSA22
In the course you deepen and broaden your understanding of intermedial phenomena and theories.
Teaching – spring semester of 2022
From 9 February, more teaching will be conducted on campus. During the gradual return to campus, some digital teaching will continue. Hence, it is very important that you pay attention to information from your teacher and potential changes in your schedule in Canvas and/or TimeEdit.
The course consists of thematically oriented modules. Among other things, you get to study phenomena such as the total work of art and different types of popular culture. You study similarities and differences between, above all, media such as: words, images and sounds, and then analyze different forms of interaction between those media. By using interdisciplinary theories and methods, you analyze verbal, visual and auditory media relations in both contemporary and historical contexts. At the end of the course, you write an essay.
In several of the modules, the teaching takes place in English.
If you do not want to apply for the whole of the semester (IMSA22, 30 ECTS credits), it is also possible to apply to the shorter courses themselves (IMSB23, IMSB26, and IMSB25).
