Course
Course 7.5 credits • IMSM01
This course introduces the methods and theories of intermedial studies, a multimodal research field. It is intended for individuals seeking to expand their knowledge and understanding of media, aesthetics, media history, and communication.
The concepts of 'medium' and 'media' are problematised, as are combinations of so-called basic media forms (word, image and sound) in relation to different medial contexts and situations. Modern theory, as well as older texts and research, are presented in the literature and teaching materials. The course also covers fine arts, popular culture, and non-aesthetic forms of communication.
This course is ideal to complement your studies in other aesthetic, media history, and media and communication-oriented disciplines.
