My research aims to develop a deeper understanding of the ongoing negotiations of masculinity that take place in the interplay between content from the manosphere, algorithmic recommendation systems, and young cisgender men's information-related activities on social media platforms. I focus on young men living in Sweden and investigate how they engage with content promoting essentialist, heteronormative, and misogynistic ideals of masculinity on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.
