I started my PhD studies in ethnology in September 2015. My primary research interest is the interaction of structures of power in the formation of cultural processes. This leads me to questions about the construction of sex, gender, race and sexuality, to mention a few. These topics have in turn led me into research areas concerning issues such as legality, norms, and global postcolonial states of affairs.
In other words, I will conduct research with an intersectional perspective in order to study perceptions and conditions which create power relations. Ethnological fieldwork is an important part of this work and this highlights ethical concerns, due to my choice of research topic. Therefore I am also interested in ethnographical methods, their limits and possibilities.
I hold an MA in Applied Cultural Analysis from Lund University, and a BA in Cultural Studies from Malmö Högskola.
