I am Senior Lecturer of Art History and Visual Studies. My research considers visual culture in medieval and early modern Europe. Currently, I am PI of the project Portrait of the Writer as a Woman: Images of Female Literary Authority in the Renaissance (Sw. Research Council, 2026–29). My previous projects have explored the meanings of site, architecture and space in relation to truth and knowledge in medieval Christian imagination, late medieval book illumination, and the role of images in the cult of female saints. I earned my Ph.D. (University of Oslo, 2015) with a thesis exploring Birgitta of Sweden and late medieval visionary culture.

Before joining the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences at Lund University, I have been Deputy Director of the Swedish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome, Visiting Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Visiting Scholar at The Warburg Institute, and Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for Medieval Studies, Stockholm University.
