Digital Cultures
Research node
In the Digital Cultures research node, we address digitalization from a critical cultural studies perspective. Our research includes both theoretical and qualitative approaches, artistic explorations, and arts-based methodologies.
We investigate topics ranging from the digital practices of everyday life to critical engagement with techno-optimist imaginaries and discourses, as well as the larger societal implications of digitalization and AI.
Researchers in the node apply multiple disciplinary angles and contribute to a number of research fields, including cultural studies and theory, information studies, STS, ethnology, platform studies, critical data studies, AI and algorithm studies, and surveillance and privacy studies.
We aim for the research node to be an engaging environment for established as well as early career scholars, and to create a room for the development of future collaborations. We meet monthly for joint readings and discussion meetings, seminars, workshops, and excursions.
