Research Seminar for Mediated Culture and Information: Kristofer Söderströms, (final seminar): Patterns of use and productivity of scientific instruments in contemporary big science facilities

Final seminar for my PhD project, which analyses contemporary Big Science facilities with bibliometric data sources, theory from the sociology/economics and statistical/computational methods. The assumptions that scientific instruments within these facilities are generic resources significant enough to give rise to new patterns of collaboration; promote interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research efforts; and that they positively impact scientific output and quality; are put to the test with data driven but theoretically informed studies within a compilation thesis.
